1. Movies…Burnt…Food, Failure And Fun!
Bradley Cooper And Sienna Miller Cook For The Third Star!
Jean Luc is to French cooking as stars are to the sky. His three star restaurant’s kitchen grooms the next great chefs of the world. Jean Luc’s daughter, Alicia Vikander, is just as exquisite as Luc’s multiple award winning dishes. After leaving Jean Luc, Bradley Cooper cannot stand the pressure of running his own two star restaurant and kitchen or of dating Jean Luc’s daughter.
Cooper self destructs with booze, drugs, and other woman. His two year exile shucking clams in New Orleans helps him dry out. Cooper believes he can leave his failures in France behind. He believes he can come back to three stars with a friend’s restaurant in London. A comeback in the world you just destroyed doesn’t seem likely. Bradley assembles his old restaurant team and adds Sienna Miller for dessert and exotic food preparation. Hope that double meaning of the word dessert wasn’t too sexist?
The movie, Burnt, is about redemption, fine foods, the quest for excellence, and, of course, the multiple relationships, good and bad, that make all the movies and television programs we put on our the best of the best lists. Your relationship with food, eating, and dining may change after seeing this movie. Ours did! Put this movie on your viewing menu and then see if you look at your night’s restaurant choice with a new sense of knowing…then share this knowing with your friends on Facebook and Twitter?
2. Business…Malls Are Money Makers!…Mall Rides Continue To Expand!
Philadelphia’s Malls Are Striving In The Quest For #1!
For 20 years, Philadelphia was the Mall Capital of the World. The King of Prussia Mall held the distinction of being the Largest Mall in the United States for over two decades. Enter the Mall of The Americas in Minnesota! You know MOTA’s gigantic, no monster-ish, indoor theme park. The King of Prussia Mall has not liked their new second place title. Not at all! Until! Boom! A new building campaign!
Mall rankings are now measured in two categories. The first ranking is for largest square footage. The second best of the best ranking is for the most stores. King of Prussia is back to number one with the most stores. Try your holiday shopping at the site that has more choices than anyone in America is the mall’s new selling campaign. It’s working!
Mall rides of the large (roller coasters) and small (animal ventures) are an expanding money magnet for malls. Animal Ventures has a line-up of twelve animals you can ride around the mall at slow speeds. None are horses! The ventures are perfect for an adult and child riding together or a child riding alone…often followed by their parents on foot. The Animal Ventures Company is looking to expand with you in your nearest mall. If you are interested in starting a seemingly can’t miss business, this might be the answer for you? The animals do not have to be feed or groomed, just recharged!
3. The World Of Pets…Supporting Animal Issues…The SPCA And More!
If you teach with the wife of the head of the Philadelphia Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals, you are attuned to animal issues and causes. You are, also, encouraged with week long nudges to attend every important event in the area.
One of Northeast Pennsylvania’s biggest events is Sproutfest. Similar events are conducted throughout the United States. Sproutfest brings specialty vendors, animal lovers, animal owners, and local media together for a day of animal petting/adoption, animal care, group membership recruiting, great food, and animal walks. Contact them to organize a fest in your city, town, or neighborhood. Good people, like the Sproutfest organizers, are leaders of good programs. Join Sproutfest next year, please!
4. The Business Of Pets…Yolanda Taylor’s Business Ideas Are A Must Read!
Does Your Dog Take Up Your House, Bed Or A Teacup?
Hefty Hounds LLC. was one of the most unique businesses introduced at the Philadelphia Sproutfest event. Participants flocked around the company’s tent. Among many other one of a kind choices featured, the Reflecting Safety Dogs Vests were a big draw. We asked Yolanda Taylor, Hefty Hounds’ owner to share her business ideas with Let’s Talk Philadelphia. Here is what Yolanda shared with us:
I started a part-time business called Yo’s Dog Walking. Many of my clients had larger breed dogs and needed new leashes, harnesses and/or safety vest for their dog’s long walks. I decided to purchase items as Thank You Gifts around the holidays. Many XL at various retail stores fit up to 50 pounds. The neck sizes maximums were under 15 inches. When I shopped the internet, the prices were really expensive for larger breeds.
Hefty Hounds was created as a far better and more price reasonable option then any business I saw on the Internet. I wanted quality clothing at affordable prices. Hefty Hounds has apparel for dogs from 30 lbs. to 110 lbs. (depending on breed) I sell a variety of coats that satisfy many problems for certain breeds. For instance, I sell several coats that expands in the chest area for dogs with deep chest. Hefty Hounds, also, has coats that adjust around the neck to accommodate thick necked hounds. Many of their coats have added expansion to help around the girth of the heftier dogs. Hefty Hounds carries saddlebags, safety vests, and sports vests for the out-doors-man at affordable prices.
Our mission to support non-profit organizations has been a huge success. Hefty Hounds has donated and partnered with over 100 pet related agencies. I am, a cancer survivor, that has had a team and raised funds with the Bark for Life Organization for many years. Last Christmas we donated 100 children’s coats to Chosen 300 Ministries who feed the homeless in their community. We agree with Yolanda that you should check out her business at Heftyhounds.net.
